Morgan Creek Vineyards

Morgan Creek has live music & wood fired pizzas in addition to fantastic wine.  My favorite is their Collure.

TiTi & E-Man
Mankato Wine Bar home to fine wines and insanely cheap top shelf liquor
coolest fire bowl on earth...made from left over distilling parts
at this point in the evening The Junk Man's Daughter's Man got his head cut off in self portrait attempts

Okay so here is the lighter side of Vineyards & Wine tasting down in Southern Minnesota.  An evening combined with college buddy and a vineyard = great fun.  We began vineyard at Morgan Creek Vineyards in New Ulm and ended at the raucous Wine Bar in Mankato.  All in all it  made for a lovely evening.  Started with delicious wine (can I tell you how they have perfected cold hardy grapes into bold red wines!)  Ended with some insanely cheap Hendricks gin martinis.  What a nice weekend.  Why is this vintage...Wine is vintage and so AM I...

Two Posts in One Day, this one worth it.

My super friend Kristin(yes, she has a handmade cape) made the most amazing cookies in the way of a Harry and David sandwich cookie filled with sublime peach and yet another with chocolate. Really folks, there is lucky and then there is LUCKY. To be friends with a person who experiments with such things is just the kind of fate that a person needs! YUM. Where was my camera? I was not expecting such a treat. Really to see that glistening orange filling with the most perfect cookie on top, really you should have been there. Foodies everywhere, find this recipe.

Truly it is the lowly Vanilla that is the best at Izzy's. But I tend to be a soft-serve purist.
